There really is no common etiquette when it comes to giving your boss a holiday gift. Of course, gift-giving does strengthen relationships, particularly if it is done right. Although you are never obligated, it can be a nice touch. As an employee, it is important to understand the dynamics of the staff. Will everyone give the boss a gift? If not, are you worried about looking like you are trying too hard to please the boss? Nonsense. By now, you know your co-workers, so simply discuss it with them to hear their thoughts.
