Pilot Namiki vanishing point fountain pen is made of a unique design glossy white with matte black trim metal barrel and 18k gold retractable nib. The Pilot pen features a precise click to extract and retract the tip of the pen, which is protected by a metal shutter to prevent external elements from damaging the 18k gold nib. The innovation of the retractable nib series has eliminated the requirement of a cap on a fountain pen. Pilot fountain pen's retractable nib design allows the full-bodied Pilot Namiki design to be made even more efficient to use. The clip of this pen is designed to hold the nib in an upward position when the pen is not in use which prevents the pen from accidentally opening when clipped to a shirt pocket. Once the writing is done, an ingeniously designed door closes over the retracted nib to prevent the ink from drying out.
